Obituary of Francesco Mastronardi

Mastronardi, Francesco

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Francesco on Tuesday January 30, 2018 at the age of 85 years surrounded by his loving family at Erie Shores Hospice. Beloved husband of Maria (Totaro) for 65 years. Predeceased by his parents Antonio (1963) and Fiorina (1986). Loving father of the late Antonio (1955), Rina Grossi (Carl), Anna Sabelli (Frank) and Tony Mastronardi (Linda). Loving nonno of Anthony Grossi, Danielle Tartaro (Ezio), Stephanie Prantera (Robert), Melissa, Franky, Juliano Sabelli, Kristopher and Isabella Mastronardi. Dear bisnonno of Ryder, Kayde, Asher, Olivia, Vienna, Massimo, Guiliana and Gia. Beloved brother of Luigi Mastronardi (Lina), Rosina Totaro (Luigi),the late Bruno Mastronardi (2012) (Fiorina), Angelina Ingratta (Michele), Emma Pannunzio (Armando). He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Francesco held many things sacred but his family was always his proudest accomplishment. His name is synonymous with strength and hard work and he passed his relentless work ethic onto his children and grandchildren. His farm was his passion and our family did everything we could to ensure he was able to follow his love of farming for as long as possible. His garden and greenhouse projects were his daily focus in recent years. We will always remember him laughing and reminiscing about all his stories from the old country and his life. He was a proud member of the Leamington Roma Club since 1976 and a member of St. Michaels Parish. He was a dedicated employee wherever he worked and in 1997 he retired from the H.J.Heinz Company after 25 years of service. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the nurses and volunteers at Erie Shores Hospice. They made this difficult time much easier with their dedication to our father and their gentle compassion to our family. We cannot say enough about the care he received during these difficult days. We will be forever grateful. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home and Reception Centre, 14 Russell Street Leamington on Friday 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday February 3, 2018 at St. Michael's Church, 21 Elliott Street Leamington from 9 a.m. until Mass of the Resurrection at 10 a.m. Entombment Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery.
